Bambi on 'roids.

"Deerly Beloved: Comedy. When a deer crashes her wedding, a jappy New York advertising executive must go into the Connecticut woods and retrieve her wedding ring (which is around its antler). With her womanizing sports agent fiancé in traction and 48 hours until deer hunting season begins, she turns to a local bumbling policeman for help."

So you're telling us that there is some asshole out there who is untalented enough, who is uncreative enough, and whose taste is bad enough, that they are willing to sink so low as to rip off KANGAROO FUCKING JACK? KANGAROO MOTHER FUCKING JACK? I bet you next week this loser sends out queries for a thinly-veiled ripoff of GIGLI.

I concur. There are quite a few movies out there with this same (shitty) plot line. Hell, it seems all you need to do is put a model in there and mix it up with some slapstick comdedy.

I'm sorry, but I must disagree with the above poster. Kangaroo Jack was a flop, yes. But not because the story was asinine or mind-bendingly implausible. The problem was with the kangaroo. Today's Americans simply will not sit still and watch some foreign animal for 84 minutes.

The brilliance of 'Deerly Beloved' (besides the deliciously clever play on words in the title that puts 'Deliver Us From Eva' to shame) is that the writer has chosen that most all-American of animals, the deer, to essay the role of the wily accidental thief. I'll have to scrap my spec about the bald eagle who steals the president's hairpiece, but man, it's worth it!

Wait...so the deer crashes the "wedding" and takes off with the "wedding ring"..but she leaves her "fiance" in traction...nice continuity there...

Also, look up the word "insurance"...

"a jappy New York advertising executive"

This obviously means that her New York advertising executive stylings are similar in spirit to "Jappy" Oliver, the defensive line coach at the University of South Carolina. I think that it'd make a much better movie if instead of enlisting the help of a bumbling sheriff she enlists the help of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks defensive line to track down that rascally deer.

Maybe "jappy" is supposed to be a racial slur about the Nipponese.

I think this bozo meant JAP, as in Jewish American Princess.

I can see the climactic ending, when they catch the deer by freezing it in the headlights of a Peterbilt.

As long as the deer doesn't do rap.
