Ranch dressing.

"A young hitch-hiker takes a job as temporary ranch hand on the somewhat failing ranch of a middle-aged widow. While learning the ropes of ranching, he falls for the widow's daughter and follows her to her job at the San Diego zoo. She gets him a job at the zoo and they enjoy some of southern California. When the zoo sends them both to Africa, they not only see African wildlife, but are also caught up in a native uprising. Returning to the states, the daughter finds her mother has died and she must decide between working the ranch or the zoo. She's already decided on the ranch hand. "

Dea Author: While your idea shows real promise, production could prove a mite expensive, what with all the sets -- ranch, San Diego, non-specific Africa. Maybe they could skip Africa and just stay and the zoo? Pls. advise. One of my friends in Vegas has a wild animal collection we could maybe use.
Also, I think it kills suspense for you to let us know she has "already decided on the ranch hand" That's the kind of detail we studio execs like to find out on our own.
Keep up the good work.

Dude, I want to see this movie. Just for the breathtaking views of So. Cal and Africa and the raunchy lovefest between Zoochick and Ranchlad. But alas, now that I know the conclusion, I'll just have to shoot myself instead.

Conflict? Tension? Crisis? Nah, who needs 'em. Just give me a series of "who cares" budget-eating vignettes!

"caught up in a native uprising"

Damn those pesky little natives and their pesky little uprisings!

If you cut out the bits about the zoo and Africa, and left the lad at the ranch falling in love with the daughter, and then had the widow die and further conflict ensue with the ranch, perhaps there is promise. As it is, though, it is the most random series of events ever to be put down on paper.
